During the day, Mel runs a mega-successful company. She manages a team of over a hundred people. She commands respect as she walks through the halls, and she accomplishes incredible things.
“A relationship? No way, I don’t have time for that,” she says with a laugh.
She works long hours. Claiming she doesn’t have time for a relationship is a cover to avoid sitting alone on the couch, confronted by the loneliness she feels in her heart.
Of course, she has dates, but she doesn’t talk about them. They never lead to anything. She keeps meeting men who are intimidated by her status, though they won’t admit it.
In the end, they either don’t want or aren’t able to commit, leaving her with a broken heart. The hope she held onto is once again unfulfilled. So, she throws herself back into work, all while feeling increasingly unhappy.
This is just one of many stories. Stories of women (and men) in top positions who, despite their professional success, don’t experience the same success in love.
It feels like a taboo subject. It’s not something you talk about. It feels like failure, like you’ve messed up. And those are feelings she absolutely doesn’t want to confront. Above all, she doesn’t want others to see her as pitiful because things just aren’t working out in her love life.
When I work with these women, I see time and again that they are women who, driven by past experiences—often from their childhood, like an absent or emotionally unavailable father—have thrown themselves into work. This work ethic is a way to avoid pain or to be seen.
The result? Amazing accomplishments in their careers. But there’s a void in their hearts. Hidden pain, emptiness, and loneliness.
I guide them, step by step, to reconnect with their hearts. It’s not something you can just do overnight, because first, we must heal the wound and pain that lies beneath. It’s a process of breaking patterns, exploring and healing triggers, recognizing unwanted behaviors, and, most importantly, learning how to cultivate deep love for themselves.
Standing strong in the power of their feminine and sexual energy, while also allowing themselves to be soft.
I believe this is the biggest challenge for many women today: they feel they have to be strong and take charge, while also being able to embrace their beautiful, feminine strength.
